What do the serial function in embedded c mean

The serial function downloaded on website do not have explaination, like function serial_write().Is there data I can get? I am appreciate.Also can the serial function or zigbee function used for other type zigbee devices? I am confused.

Please provide us the link of which serial function you are referring to.

Also, please be specific about which seiral/zigbee functions you are referring to.
