Problem with CM-510

조회 수 887 추천 수 0 2010.08.02 18:53:44

Hello,

I'm having problem with the CM-510. When I connect it to a 12V DC voltage supply, it turns on for about 5 seconds, then it starts ringing for another 3 seconds and then it turns off. Note that I'm not connecting any motor to it and I'm sure that I'm feeding it with 12V DC. When I move the switch to ON again, it doesn't give any sign of living. It just went dead and the fuse is intact. Concerning the wires connection, everything is as should be done. What might be the problem? Is there a way to reset it to default setting? maybe this will do it. Please reply ASAP.

Thank you

Hi Rami,

Which mode is the CM-510 set in? If it’s in PLAY mode, it may show awkward symptoms depending on the programs.

Try connecting to the RoboPlus Manager.

Below is also a link to restoring it as well.

Dear,

Thank you for ur reply but the problem is that the CM-510 won't turn on so I'm not able to connect it to Roboplus manager, the software won't detect it if it is not turned on. Concerning the mode, it starts beeping in whatever mode it's set in (that's before it started not turning on). Do you think it's a problem related to the microcontroller or to another IC in the circuit inside the CM-510?

Thank you.

Hi Rami,

I am thinking it's either the battery or the fuse that's causing the problem.

Please connect your SMPS to the CM-510. If it turns on, it's the battery problem.

If the CM-510 does not turn on, it's the fuse problem.

Hi,

It's neither the battery nor the fuse. I think it's something related to an IC responsible about the voltage distribution across the rest of the IC's in the circuit. Do you have any info about this?

Hi Rami,

Our engineers think it must be either a firmware or circuit problem.

However, if it's a firmware problem, all you need to do is restore the firmware.

If it's a circuit problem, then it will cost you. So, I recommend you to try the restoring procedure once more.

If it still does not work, please fill in the RMA form and send it to contactus2@robotis.com.

Then, we will assist you further from there.
