alarm shutdown

조회 수 1027 추천 수 0 2011.12.16 01:42:35

Hi ROBOTIS,

We would like to activate for the AX12 motors the "alarm shutdown" on overload.

I have set address 0x12 to 0x24. In addition "Max Torque" and "Torque Limit" is set to 100. To set the values I have used RoboPlus. If I stop the motor by my hand, I see in the "present load" values above 500. But the motor continues to move when I take away my hand. Does anyone have a solution for me to make the motor stop automatically on overload?

Thanks,

Alex

Hi Alex,

When the max torque is set to 50%, the overload shutdown will come work.

When the alarm shutdown occurs, the torque limit changes to 0 and the motor output becomes 0% as well.

In order to turn on again, you must use the ON/OFF or re-set the torque limit.

In order to stop the DXL, you must re-set the goal position. Thus meaning,

when a external load is detected, set it so that the current position is the goal position to stop it.

Hi ROBOTIS,

50% is too much for us. I tried it with 10% and it did not work. Do I need to set any other parameters?

What do you mean with DXL?

Thanks,

Alex

Alex,

If you use the torque limit and target position, you can make the basic movement.

For other parameters, you can adjust and use them depending on your environment.

DXL = Dynamixel

Hi,

I have now restored the firmware on the dynamixel motor, as described in the manual. I set "torque limit" to 100 and move the motor over "Goal Position". "Alarm shutdown" was already set to Overload and Overheating. I stop now the engine by my hand. If I release the motor, it moves again. Why? The engine should turn the torque automatically off.

In the User's Manual of AX12 on page 2 is "alarm system" and on page 15 the "alarm shutdown" described. So the motor should be able to turn off automatically on overload. Or not?

Thanks,

Alex

Alex,

The torque automatically shutsdown when the "alarm shutdown" kicks in.

If the external force on the motor does not enable the alarm shutdown, the torque will continue be applied.
